What level of security does the site have?

The site holds the latest Class 3 Secure Server 1024 bit certificate supplied by VeriSign CA.

Why do you need my email address and telephone number?

We need your email address as we send you the valuation link via email, once your purchase offer has been calculated.

We ask for your telephone as it makes communication much easier if we need to clarify any vehicle specification details before valuing your vehicle.

Please note, we fully adhere to the 1998 Data Protection Act and will not divulge any of your personal details to any other third party. (close)

When and how often do SellyourJamjar contact me?

We will contact you shortly after completion of the handshake section.

We may also contact you at any stage before the end of the process to check or confirm any details of your vehicle. (close)

2. ENTERING VEHICLE DETAILS:

Why do we need the vehicle specification information?

We wish to return you the highest value possible for your vehicle. To help us achieve this aim, we need as much information as you can offer, including any additional specification, accessories, even registration or chassis numbers will help if you feel comfortable giving us this information.

We have included registration number look up and drop down boxes to make the process as quick and as accurate as possible.

However if you wish to add any further information you feel is relevant to the vehicles value we have offered a manual entry text box where any additional information that has been added will be read and calculated here to increase the valuation of your car. (close)

My vehicle does not appear on the dropdown list.

Firstly we apologise for this oversight and please rest assured this will not affect the value we offer.

1. Click through to the correct manufacturer in the usual way.

2. At the bottom of the next dropdown (model of car) click other.

3. Again click on other at the bottom of the next dropdown (specification of car).

4. This will reveal a text box where your vehicle details can be added manually using your keyboard.

Please remember to inform us of model, engine size, specification identification, number of doors and shape of car.

i.e Ford Focus 1.8 Ghia 5 door hatchback.

We will also then add your vehicle to our make and model option's for the future. (close)

I have made a mistake and need to amend my vehicles, appointment and personal details.

You can amend your vehicles or personal information details at any stage.

Change options are available at anytime during the offer process, alternatively any changes can be made through My Jamjar before collection for either car information given, email addresses, collection addresses and even the appointment date and time.

My vehicle has lots of additional specification that I believe will increase the vehicle’s value.

If you wish to add any further information you feel is relevant to the vehicles value we have offered a manual entry text box at the end of the tell us about ... section, where any additional information that has been added will be read and calculated here to increase the valuation of your car. (close)

Will the vehicle's chassis or registration number help you in configuring my exact vehicle?

In many cases it is a great help and could result in an increased purchase offer, as any resulting manufacturer chassis checks may inform us of additional specification over and above your manually entered description.

If you are happy to supply us with either a chassis or registration number, please rest assured your vehicle details will not go any further, this is a secure site and we adhere to the data protection act of 1998. (close)

3. PURCHASE OFFER:

I have received a purchase offer and wish to proceed.

Excellent, please proceed through to the Handshake section, where we will take down your preferred Payment Method, Collection Address, Date and Time.

Once you have completed this section a representative will contact you within 24 hours to confirm the collection, payment and date for collection. (close)

How long does my purchase offer remain in effect?

Due to the nature of an ever changing market place, we have decided that we can only confirm our purchase offer for 5 days.

However if you do decide to take us up on our purchase offer after the 5 day time limit has expired, we have given you the opportunity to re-offer the vehicle without the need to re-enter your vehicle details once again.

This option will be given automatically for up to 28 days when re-entering the site using My Jamjar.

**We may be able to offer you the same valuation as previously offered after the 5 day period but we cannot guarantee this. (close)

My purchase offer’s time limit has expired, what do I do to retrieve it?

If you have not informed of your intention to sell us the vehicle within 5 days, we have provided an auto re-enter option, cancelling the need to start the whole process from scratch.
Simply re-use the link on the original 'Your Purchase Valuation Is Ready For Retreival' email to re-enter the site or use the My Jamjar login and change any information neccessary.

However all valuation offers will be removed after 28 days of the original offer. (close)

4. CONDITION APPRAISAL:

Why do you need this Condition information?

We need to establish a true and fair reflection of the vehicles overall mechanical and exterior condition.

Once we have this information, the figure we quote will be our purchase price.

The appraisal section will ask you to complete information about vehicle defects.

The original offer price will only be adjusted if your vehicle has any mechanical, electrical, glasswork or bodywork defects.

If you have any questions you may have on 0870 2246 911. (close)

How will printing the appraisal page help me?

If you have not had a good look at the vehicle for some time it may be a good idea to re-associate yourself with its condition before filling out the online appraisal system.

The appraisal form can be printed and then used as a guide when looking around the car to mark off any bodywork or interior defects before entering the details required via the online appraisal section. (close)

What happens if I miss something?

We are purely trying to establish a true and fair reflection of your vehicles condition.

If you miss an odd chip or a tiny scratch we will not change our purchase offer price.

However we are after a true and fair reflection of the vehicles condition..

If this is obviously not the case we will need to restructure our offer accordingly. (close)

Can I get in touch if I need help?

Please feel free to contact us either by email at info@sellyourjamjar.co.uk or telephone 0870 2246 911. (close)

5. PAYMENT AND COLLECTION:

How do we conclude the purchase of your car?

You simply press Accept at the purchase offer page and make your way through to the Handshake section.

Tell us when and where you would like us to collect the vehicle and we will do the rest including arranging payment for the vehicle.

Just follow the easy steps online or call us on 0870 2246 911, informing us of your preferred collection address, payment details, time and date.

And we'll see you there with payment.

It is that easy. (close)

How do you pay for my car?

We suggest you chose our bespoke Barclays Business Master Instant Bank Transfer system which has been designed specifically by Barclays Bank Plc in conjunction with SellyourJamjar.co.uk so you will receive payment for your vehicle within 15 minutes.

However we can only offer this service during on normal Banking days and when the appointment time is before 3.0pm as this is the Banks cut-off time.

When the appointment time is outside of these hours we can offer a Bankers Draft as full payment.

Unfortunately we cannot pay by cash in full or part payment for your vehicle. (close)

When do you pay for the vehicle?

At the agreed time and date of collection.

Once the appraisal details have been confirmed we will immediately instruct our bankers to electronically transfer the money to your bank account.

Alternatively we will arrange collection of a bank draft at this time from the most local branch of our bankers to your collection address. (close)

Will you attempt to take the car before payment has been sent?

No. We will not attempt to collect the vehicle until the balance has been paid to the relevant instructed bank account or a genuine bank draft has been handed to the seller. (close)

I am not the owner of the vehicle, will you pay money into my bank account?

No. We can only pay monies to the legal owner of the vehicle.

If you are acting as an agent on behalf of the owner then we will only make payment to the legal owners instructed bank account. (close)

Can you collect and pay for the vehicle in the evenings and/or at weekends?

Bank transfer payments can only be made during banking hours, so we are restricted to these times.

However if you would prefer a bankers draft as payment then evenings and/or weekends can be available as collection dates and times.

Please bear in mind that weekends are usually booked first so please be patient if you cannot get a weekend appointment. We will endeavour to collect and pay for the vehicle at a convenient time during the week. (close)

Would your collection drivers like a cup of tea when they collect the car?

That would be very nice, thank you! (close)

6. OUTSTANDING FINANCE:

I have outstanding finance on the vehicle.

This is not a problem and will not affect the purchase offer.

We will pay for the vehicle in the normal bank transfer or bankers draft methods but less the outstanding value of the current finance settlement.

SellyourJamjar will then settle the total outstanding finance settlement to the relevant bank, finance or leasing company directly. (close)

The outstanding finance may be more than the vehicle is worth.

Again this will not affect the purchase offer.

Again sellyourjamjar will settle the outstanding finance in full, this results in sellyourjamjar holding the negative equity.

We require payment by you to sellyourjamjar to cover this negative equity which will be needed by bankers draft or sameday bank transfer, during office hours.

SellyourJamjar will then settle the total outstanding finance settlement to the relevant bank, finance or leasing company directly.

All final details of the amounts owed will be confirmed as well as our bank account details if needed before the agreed time and date of collection. (close)

Who gains the final outstanding finance settlement figure?

We automatically check each vehicle for any outstanding finance agreements registered against it, using either HPI and/or experian data check(s).

We will then contact the relevant finance company and negotiate the settlement due figure on your behalf. We may require additional information from you.

If you wish to negotiate this figure yourself we will confirm the this is not a problem.

A representative will contact you shortly after completion of the handshake section.

We will always supply you with copies of financial information we hold about you and your vehicle including outstanding finance settlement figures. (close)
